Owen Simmons is a member of the Party, one of the higher-classed citizens in this caste. As a child, he was a faithful and obedient child, looking up to the vision and ideals of Big Brother as if they were the very word of God. He is the younger of two children, a boy and a girl, who both grew up to be model citizens of the Party, his sister Jane enlisting in the military, and he himself becoming a member of the Junior Anti-Sex League and later a cadet in the Thought Police.

It was not long after this that he began to see the atrocities of Big Brother. Some of the things shown to him, and was entrusted with, opened his eyes in no way one of the Jewish Thought Criminal Goldstein ever could. He began to rebel in small ways, little things that would go unnoticed, such as graffiti in blind spots of telescreens, distributing banned reading material, things of that matter. As the days go by, however, his crimes grow far more treacherous.

He awaits the day the Thought Police come for him, as well.

Owen is an original character based on the book 1984, by George Orwell.
